Meet Janista “Bam” Liewchalermwong, the favorite girl of no lesser than Chart Thai party leader Banharn Silpa-Archa. Bam was a fixture front and center with Banharn in past election campaigns, glowing like a gem in her perfect makeup in the midst of the regular lumps of coal.

She’s always been easy on the eyes, The Nation wrote. Something you can’t exactly say about Banharn. Who wouldn’t understand Banharn’s eagerness to consider that exceptional, still single woman with the coy ponytail and sterling smile a most important asset.

Bam, what will happen to Banharn with the threatened dissolution of Chart Thai?

That’s difficult to say. We all wait and wait, the word is with the Constitution Court. Nobody knows what will happen.

Will you join another party?

Not at the moment. Chart Thai is where I started my political career.

Content that the party joined the coalition?

I’m not surprised that (Banharn) joined the coalition. He’ll always do what’s the best decision.

Your wish for Thailand?

Peace for the South. No fights, no war. That’s my best wish.

Your role model in Thailand?

Everybody asks me this question …

What makes you angry?

People who sell votes to the candidates …

Not people who buy votes?

People should have more conscience. It’s down to only 200 baht for a vote now. In places you even get 3 for 1.

What about Khun Samak?

He’s an adaptive person, quite intelligent with longterm experience. At this stage of Thai politics he’s the most suitable person to lead the nation.

Thaksin?

He’s … I admire him, as a leader, as a leader of the big business. Apart from corruption charges. We still have to find out.
