Staged filming? Foreigners destroying the reputation of Thailand?
You’re old enough to make up your own mind. Suddenly, Thai authorities are all over it. Even though the jet ski scam is well documented since years.
From the U.K.’s Bravo. And don’t tell me I’m always negative. Just found it on the internet:

Politically Correct? You Bet
absolutely Bangkok.com stands for measured, carefully opined takes of easy going intellectuality. Not that we're politically correct. Heaven forbid. First and foremost we aim to enhance civilized dialog and debate about this our fascinating, never truly understood city. The world's official capital of sin, sizzle and spice - where "hottest" prevails in edible, climatic and female manifestation.

More than the Obvious
absolutely Bangkok.com offers some girlie talk. There's a myriad of concerned girlie analysts out there already. We feel there is slightly more to Bangkok than the obvious and often-enough-said-and-tried-it-all. We got our own takes on how the "poor Thai women from the countryside with a modest education can make well-educated, worldly Western men do really crazy things," as an old Bangkok hand once said.

Why are you foreigners so hypersensitive? The way tourists are treated here is still nothing compared to how Thais treat their own. You foreigners are still very much privileged. But who cares when Thais are abused and betrayed by Thais.
Perhaps an expose on how many farang have been taken down hard by farang who have preceded them is in order.
Episode 2 uploaded – BTW: Thai police furious (read the comments) over staged filming harming the reputation of the kingdom.
And now the local video maker faces prosecution. And the jet ski operators in question?
And I assume commentator JJ above may not be that JJ …

I myself have to confess that the whole incident with the gun looked so very perfect as if “produced.”
Even if it was, it doesn’t change the fact of scammers. Sometimes you have to use unusual tactics to reach your goal, or not. The PAD demagogues are true masters in this regard. But it would say something about the quality of journalism/entertainment.

Having been to Thailand twice a year for the last 10 years and been happerly married to Thai lady for 8 years i can honestly say that your average Thai is full of shit they would rob your granny and as for being peaceful people bollocks have you ever driven a car or ridden a moterbike in Pattaya they are the angriest motorists on the planet they would run you over rather than give way the money train from the felong is slowly coming to a end every one i spoke to on my last trip was pissed off with been riped off the more programs that bravo can pump out the better people need to know what really goes on there.
Much too harsh words darren, especially Thai motorists can be some of the cheekiest drivers, I think you haven’t been to other “developing” places, but a new low certainly was this story, a gang trying to burn alive a beggar.

Degioanni, Phuket, KILLED!
Uwe Keienburg, KILLED!
British, German, Canadian … killed in Thailand!
PLEASE DO NOT FORGET!
Thailand is a great country and some tourists can be very annoying, but those people practicing scams and ripoffs including those supported by the police should be prosecuted and put to jail.
