Centara Grand: New Kid On The Bangkok Dining Block

So far the Siam@Siam hotel’s Chocolate Martini was Bangkok’s most innovative Martini. The new Centara Grand hotel @ Central World not only raises the “Martini-bar” with a Wine Bar & Martini Bar. If you like mind-blowing style and architecture, welcome to Bangkok’s most talked about new hotel and dining experience.

Central World’s upper 7th floor is already an astonishing food experience. Just to mention The Manhattan Fish Market or – if you die for burgers – Triple O’s by White Spot. Now this. Such as the Centara’s voguish long bar with that flabbergasting array of innovative Martinis.

French, Austrian, Spanish, Canadian and Scandinavian chefs are led by an Italian chef to please as masters of the art of food. Some dishes are even prepared at table side. Dine @ the Red Sky covering the entire outdoor area of the 55th floor.

Or the stunning centerpiece of the Fifty Five restaurant, the circular-two-story, glass-walled wine cellar, attended over by probably the only Wine Angel in Asia, who uses a harness to swoop up and down to collect the bottles ordered by diners.

Wine Angel? Fits the hotel’s impressive design incorporating the four elements earth, air, water and fire. Shaped like a flowering lotus that towers over Bangkok. Serving food 24/7. Definitively a new Bangkok landmark.

Staying at the hotel? Centara Grand lets you even select the type of pillows that you wish to have in your room.

Sumptuous plug for Centara, I hope you were sufficiently renumerated, or in other words, did they express themselves in quantitative terms?

Don’t do paid posts chang dek.

Not one post on absolutely is paid for.

What is good is worth a praising mention; what not, not.

I for myself love innovative stuff.

Probably just as well, I heard the Central group were a bit mingy, but judging from your post it looks like they are making up for that in other ways.

Centara itself doesn’t have a perfect reputation. All above the 6th floor @ Central World though has become an astonishing place. Way above Paragon which looks and feels cheapish in comparison.

A paragon for farmers? I agree; last year I did a VNR on shopping in BKK and Central World (paint still tacky) came out as the best and most innovative shopping centre in the region … and no, there was no renumeration from them! By comparison, Paragon is a loud zoo for non-spending low class tourists, and no, I don’t mean rural people …

Hey there! Nice post. Great descriptions of the facilities, amenities, food and stuff; especially about the latter, you immediately made me feel like I want to grab a bite and sample something from the repertoire of those world-class chefs you were talking about. I think I just might, one of these days.
