En Route

absolutelyBangkok.com will be hibernating until after Songkran. In what is supposed to be my first computer-free break since the creation of computers I’ll be somewhere where there are actually hardly any computers. Maybe a Twitter tweet now and then … First withdrawal syndromes kickin’ in …
With sparse access to the net and default set to moderation it may take some time until a comment appears. The News Feed is more mainstream until I’m back. And what will happen meanwhile? The exciting part about leaving the country now is, again – no one has a clue what country one comes back to.
Anything said now may look like water under the bridge very soon. Seriously, who knows. My take? Much ado about nothing. For the moment. And I’ve been wrong before. To stay ahead of the times tune in to the sites listed in the real-time blogroll further below. The Nation, Bangkok Post, TNA & TAN Network (formerly TOC) will keep you up to speed with more regular updates.
Thanks for your continuous support, have a great and hopefully peaceful Songkran – and talk to you soon -
(In case you’re bored, read our Psychology of Songkran again.)

Politically Correct? You Bet
absolutely Bangkok.com stands for measured, carefully opined takes of easy going intellectuality. Not that we're politically correct. Heaven forbid. First and foremost we aim to enhance civilized dialog and debate about this our fascinating, never truly understood city. The world's official capital of sin, sizzle and spice - where "hottest" prevails in edible, climatic and female manifestation.

More than the Obvious
absolutely Bangkok.com offers some girlie talk. There's a myriad of concerned girlie analysts out there already. We feel there is slightly more to Bangkok than the obvious and often-enough-said-and-tried-it-all. We got our own takes on how the "poor Thai women from the countryside with a modest education can make well-educated, worldly Western men do really crazy things," as an old Bangkok hand once said.
