Samak R.I.P.

A year ago he was still going strong, Samak Sundaravej, dinosaur politician, cook, former prime minister.

Liver cancer. That’s how life can be. Our humble little tribute to the controversial firebrand is a video below I shot not too long before his demise.

A timely reminder that the old guard dies off slowly and there’s not much promising fresh blood moving up.

Samak, whose last grand ambition a year ago was to be at the helm during the funeral rites of HM the King’s sister Princess Galyani Vadhana, is now gone himself.

R.I.P., Samak Sundaravej, former prime minister of Thailand.

The show of hypocricy paraded by all those in media who came out with condolences today – same people who contributed to his fall from premiership last year. The show must go on, and the dead can’t talk back?

Now, they have someone to pin the fire truck scandal on.
