Serbia Mulls Mass Import Of Asian Brides Against Extinction Of Own People

Not a purely Thai topic, but nevertheless relevant for a nation that has exported thousands upon thousands of its daughters as brides. The proud nation of Serbia mulls over the official import of young women from Burma, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam – to prevent the extinction of its own people.

How dare they don’t go for Thai brides. Maybe they’ve become too costly? Because, as Zeljko Vasiljevic says, State Secretary to the Labor and Welfare Ministry: “There (in Asia) they already live on two dollars a day. Here it’s economic heaven for them.” Heaven for them. Never mind the Serb’s nationalist and racial supremacy.

“They’re Buddhists,” Vasiljevic goes on, “and that’s a peaceful faith similar to (Serbian) Orthodoxy, they’re traditionally loyal to the state they live in and are hard-working.” The proposal to bring 100,000 modest Southeast Asian brides to Serbia for bachelors, particularly those living in backward rural areas, has – surprise – caused outrage, surprise and laughter.

Belgrade – Labour and Welfare Minister Rasim Ljajic had to apologize to the public after the state secretary in his ministry, Zeljko Vasiljevic, said Serbia would benefit by bringing in women from “Laos, Burma, Cambodia and Vietnam”.

The number of Serbs is dwindling by 30,000 each year, the women disinterested in bearing children and men interested in emigrating westward instead of farming so something “must urgently be done”, Vasiljevic said.

With a view to the “250,000 bachelors in Serbia,” home to more than seven million people, the former war veteran particularly stressed that “those women nurture the cult of children and we could in five years have 300 000 newborns.”

While Serbia had 135,000 women more than men in the 15-60 age group in the 2002 census, the problem of a negative birth rate remains a thorn in the side particularly of nationalists.

After all, in Kosovo, the Serbian heartland province which declared independence in February, the majority Albanians reproduce at the highest rate in Europe.

Unlike “spoiled Serbian boys don’t seek out regular girls, but gawk at silicone dolls for parties and showing off”, as a columnist said in Thursday’s edition of the daily Politika, the Albanians have no problems with emptying villages.

In Serbia, “when boys turn 40, they suddenly remember children and start looking for girls – machines for cooking and bearing kids,” said the columnist, sociologist Slobodan Antonic.

Antonic says the Vasiljevic project, “briefed on 15 and elaborated on 120 pages”, stirred a vigorous debate on Serbian Internet forums, where boys support Vasiljevic’s plan as something to teach arrogant Serbian girls a lesson.

In return, women complain of “infantile boys”, disinterested in marriage and children, so maybe with Asian girls we can import Cuban boys and teach everybody some sense,” Antonic said.

Vasiljevic, meanwhile, though obviously disappointed, said his project was not a ministry effort but his own, adding he was shelving it “until a better time”. Ljajic said he was helpless to discipline his subordinate owing to the complex ruling coalition deal.

His idea, however, reflects a real problem worrying not just Serbs but others in the region too.

In 2004, a priest warned Croatia it is short 103,000 unmarried women aged 25-49 and he called for women to come from Ukraine to make up the deficit.

Working on a smaller scale and for profit, Nediljko Babic, a man called “Gangster”, has meanwhile gained dubious fame by arranging marriages between young Croat men from backward areas along the Adriatic and Ukrainian girls.

He has helped arrange 250 marriages with a strong showing of 400 children so far, a 2007 newspaper report said.

    As someone who lived in Serbia for a while, I must admit this is a brilliant idea. For inhabitants of a poor and backwards country, Serbian girls have quite an attitude.

    Just give the free-for-all visas to Thai and other SE Asian girls, and let nature take care of the rest.

    If you ask me, they are all idiots. I have yet to meet another woman from Eastern Europe who doesn’t believe the world revolves around them. They are prejudice, ignorant idiots. I’ll be happy to see them cause their own extinction. The men are the worst. They don’t deserve the right to bread. Once they marry, they beat their women into obedience. They are polluting the USA, England, Germany, Denmark, and every other Western European nation with their backward traditions and views. Why must we tolerate them? Why must we change for them? They come to our countries uninvited and then demand we change. They need to go home and die out on their own. Let them do it to themselves. We shouldn’t touch them, that would be wrong and immoral, let them stop breeding and die out. Darwin’s law prevails!

    Well, we will not be left alone on an island, Darwin once again. But the look at all the trouble they are causing in their own countries and elsewhere. Trafficking their children for the sex slave industry. Selling their neighbors children for labor. It’s awful, and no one can argue this. The men walk around like they are bad ass mafia, and they are not. (Stealing work from good people by force and threating their families and children with guns … well documented facts.)

    The level of marital abuse in their communities is horrific. I don’t blame their women for not wanting to marry these men. Who wants to be beaten? These men are not willing to assimilate into modern society where women are equal and make as much a men if not more in some situations. They are not willing to respectfully work under a women authority when she has worked hard to earn her position, this is not behavior that is acceptable.

    But the women are acting as if they are superior to other women. NO SINGLE RACE OR RELIGION IS SUPERIOR TO ANOTHER. We worked hard to gain our level of equality to men with in our countries, they come in and get handed these equalities on a silver patter, unearned and then act as though they are superior to us. What gives them the right to be this way. We have worked hard for generations to create environments of equality, they are doing a great job of messing this up.

    And why should they be allowed to import wives, so they can beat them and turn them into domestic slaves? As they said, the women were obedient, that’s why they are considering them. What type of government and religion urges such aggression towards women? Western ideology succeeds for a reason, we worked hard to erase barriers, barriers they are rebuilding. They are ruining all we have worked for.

    If they came into our countries, willing to assimilate while maintaining their identity, their would be no issues, but come on … they are demanding we change.

    Rebecca, with all the respect, You are just a huge idiot. If You had been beaten by the Serbian male, that is the problem between You and him, also, You could call the police and other services for that kind of situations.

    Regarding violence, it is statistically proven that level of physical violence is greater in the “cultural” western world, than in the eastern part of Europe. Also, You are talking about hard working and deserving the positions. Great, it is nice. But, is it nice from “cultural” western civilization to spill the bombs on the hospitals and maternity wards? Hitting the woman with a slap is savagery, but, bombing her and her just born baby is democratic and cultural? Oooooh, noble western democracy, I’m pissing on your nobleness. Nato bombing of Serbia was cultural? Without UN permission? Where was that democracy in spring of 1999? I can say only this: F*** off with your democracy, Serbian flesh and blood was defending your asses from the Turkish domination. Maybe the Turkish domination over all the Europe was solution? In that case, women never could be equal with the men, it is the fact. But, no, Your democracy and fight for equality was protected just with Serbian blood. Serbs were dying for Your development. Did anyone said “thanks for victims”? No one!!! Instead of gratitude, we and our children were been rewarded for our victims with the air strikes, bombs, missiles, “night hawks” and other? Rebecca, if there is left anything of humanity inside of Yourself, You should be shamed!!! Just shut up and think about my words. I will be always proud with my Serbian blood and roots, with my glorious history, and large humanity I had from my home and parents, loyalty to truth and honesty, instead of double morality of western “cultural” civilization.
