Thai Luxury Rehab

It can happen to anyone. In every life there are disappointments and breakdowns. Some manage, some not. Some find relief. Others excuses. Others fail, and again, until it’s too late.

Temptations – one of the pillars of the Thailand we all appreciate – are easily and readily available everywhere around here. Others import their own set of problems from back home.

Alcohol, drugs … But there is a way out. Renunciation? absolutely introduces you a uniquely Thai rehab center. No, this is no advertorial. I just thought you may want to know – because, you never know, do you:

By Garrett Tuck, Breathing Space Thailand

Why Thailand as a destination for drug and alcohol rehabilitation? A tropical country with a history of spirituality and holistic health practices, also value for money, sun, many wonderful excursions and cultural things to see and do are just some of the very good reasons why The Land of Smiles makes the perfect choice for those seeking recovery from drug or alcohol addiction.

Drug rehab Breathing Space Thailand was set up to fill the gap for treating an international clientele that live and work in the Southeast Asia region and beyond.

Over the last four months, clients from across the globe have been arriving in Chiang Mai to attend the Breathing Space Thailand drug and alcohol program. This intense 28 day programme has been developed by an international team of healthcare professionals from the U.K. and the U.S., who know what works for their clients and what doesn’t.

There is a high ratio of staff to clients to ensure the very best standards of therapeutic care and support. Breathing Space Thailand’s counsellor and psychotherapist is a senior accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

The BACP is now the largest and broadest body within the Counselling and Psychotherapy sector with approximately 29,000 individual members, participating in the development of counselling and psychotherapy at an international level. In addition to being BACP accredited, Breathing Space Thailand’s therapist, Don, is also authorized to work to legislation governing health services in Thailand.

From the moment you walk into the Breathing Space Thailand environment you will see what a special place this really is, from landscaped tropical gardens, to the lakes and water features the resort has been designed to add a therapeutic quality. Set in 3.5 acres of secluded, private grounds with a back drop of mountains, Breathing Space Thailand is true to its name!

Everything from the excursions, to the complementary therapies include a therapeutic element, to enable clients in early recovery to build their self-esteem and confidence, to experience fun and enjoyment, something that many people lose when addicted to substances.

At Breathing Space Thailand, clients are able to go elephant trekking, swim at a waterfall or relax at the hot springs – activities that would not usually be possible back in their home countries.

When Drug Rehab Breathing Space Thailand’s Treatment Manager, Garrett Tuck, began designing this bespoke, discreet and intimate rehab program with a maximum of five clients, he took an immense amount of inspiration from the beauty of life in Thailand.

“Thailand seemed, to me, to make the most incredible setting for a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. We are able to provide clients with a diverse range of excursions that enable them to have some fantastic experiences and memories of living life in Thailand during early recovery from addiction.“

Breathing Space Thailand’s individualised, tailor-made drug and alcohol rehabilitation program offers clients a superb range of spa and massage treatments, included in their program fees, enabling clients to find new healthy ways to relax now they are are no longer using drugs or alcohol.

In the mornings, clients attend therapy groups and workshops or 1-2-1 counselling sessions and the spa treatments provide an excellent way to relax in the afternoon.

Breathing Space Thailand also provides a number of complementary therapies including Personal Training, Tai Chi (Chi Kung) and Hatha Yoga which is what most people in the West associate with the word “Yoga” and is widely practiced for mental and physical health.

Many of the complementary therapies provide an excellent way to manage stress and many other triggers that can cause people to return to using substances.

Chiang Mai has long been known as a key area for holistic health and so it seemed an obvious choice to establish the Breathing Space Thailand drug and alcohol rehabilitation programme in the Chiang Mai region, known as The Rose of The North.

Breathing Space Thailand’s international clientele travel from all over the world to attend the Breathing Space Thailand program to experience a uniquely Thai living environment, with western comforts. Set in 3.5 acres of tropical gardens, the palm and coconut trees in the Breathing Space living environment are something very different to what most of our clients are used to waking up to!

Each client stays in their own, individual, air-conditioned Bali-style villa located on and around water. Each villa has its own steam room and jacuzzi so the spa experience begins in the client’s accommodation and extends out across the resort.

Breathing Space Thailand’s cuisine encompasses all that is good about the Thai kitchen, giving clients a quality of food that they could quite reasonably expect to find in any good Thai or Western restaurant.

Later this year, Breathing Space Thailand will be opening a new drug and alcohol rehabilitation program based on the 12-step method of recovery from addiction. The new Breathing Space Thailand program for this popular approach to treating addiction is set in over 200 rai (110 acres) of private, natural and beautiful panoramic mountain views.

This new Breathing Space Thailand venture will include an international team of accredited psychotherapists, qualified & registered medical staff, drug and alcohol clinicians and a support team of qualified and experienced complementary therapists.

Garrett Tuck explains: “There is the most incredible scope for providing 5-star drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation in Thailand, where we can offer a gold-standard of therapy, complementary therapy, accommodation, facilities and all at an affordable price. But ultimately, it’s the inspiration this amazing country offers, as the back drop to what we do, that really is the crowning glory for us.”
