Colors simplify a lot.

No need to talk programs, strategies, values, goals.

Just colors. Colorful colors.

Everybody understands.

We're right out of primary colors, blue having been nabbed by a shady mob down in Pattaya, so what's next? The katoeys will be forming the Pink Party soon. The Bargirls Alliance would have gone for their favorite red, but that's already been purloined by those the elite consider to be the scourge of Thailand's politics, so the bargirls have wisely chosen a fetching shade of scarlet so as not to upset the powers-that-be. Their motto in these difficult times is "short time at long time rates." Unsurprisingly they haven't won over many male voters yet. There was to be a purist Green Party based in Chiang Mai and Bangkok, but all the spokespeople died of asphyxiation before they could announce their program. Some farangs felt they should be allowed to speak up and point out where the Thais were going wrong, having practised denigrating the Thais for years over beers with bargirls nodding in agreement, but members of the Grey Party (matching the (natural) hair color of those that have got any left) were immediately bundled into the Bangkok Hilton for the usual imaginary offences.

Back to square one, I suppose. Same old, same old (but different) ...

Yeah it is just the same old, even if a party wants to do the right thing, human nature soon intervenes. They should have stayed out of it, at least many people trusted them in the guise of opposing corruption, government's natural bedfellow.
