Tidbits: Chuan, Mövenpick, Thonglor

Chuan does all the Democrats’ talk these days, Mövenpick Ice Cream goes to Bangkok – and Thonglor condo projects celebrate a golden era.
The most important first – and no argues: Mövenpick, the best ice cream in the world, goes to Thailand. Not a micron of chemicals in it, all delicious purity with lots of cream and best ingredients. Guaranteed, you’ll be hooked. I usually empty a liter-box of the Stracciatella, Caramelita, Maple Walnut myself.
You could get Mövenpick Ice Cream already down in Phuket at the Karon Mövenpick Resort & Spa. Soon whole containers full of the yummiest ice cream frozen down to -25°C will arrive via Laem Chabang seaport. Promised: You won’t touch any other anymore once gone Mövenpick. Their Crème Brûlée, Panna Cotta, Tiramisù ice creams … I start crying.
4 weeks it will take for the ice cream to get from the factory in Rorschach, Switzerland, to Thailand. Mövenpick’s ice cream will be available within these days in Bangkok – in freshly baked cones -, such as at the Banyan Tree and Le Fenix hotels. Check here for updates on further locations.
Chuan: Is Abhisit on leave? Or with the current anonymous attacks against a senior person in the land of the free, does a more senior person have to do the work? Chuan with his honey-coated razor blade tongue and deepmost integrity may be no match for the other side – but a conflict between anonymous and invisible hands is hart to steer through. With Chuan, the Democrats moved their heaviest ordnance into position.
Thonglor finally: Wonder when square meter prices top 200,000 baht. Thonglor is hot. According to The Nation “several property developers are spending almost Bt10 billion to develop luxury serviced apartments in Sukhumvit Soi 55 (Soi Thonglor), marking a golden era for Sukhumvit Road’s high-end market.”
Major developments along Ekamai soon? We see some new fancy lifestyle-places at Ekamai. Even Soi 71 shows signs of hip-life. Both though serve as major feeder-roads for the agglomeration, Suvarnabhumi and the Eastern Seaboard.
Once those traffic issues are solved – dreaming? -, expect Ekamai and 71 to take off.

You are making my mouth water.
Ekamai traffic is horrible because of all the through traffic to Rama 9, Ramintra, Ramkamhaeng, etc. Such a difference with Thonglor, where there are fewer trucks and busses blazing by. As I work there I see how horrible it is every day, would never buy a condo there. I don’t see any solution for this other than building an elevated road which seems unlikely. Nevertheless property wise it will probably take off anyway.
There’s the old M1 project linking Suvarnabhumi with 71. Residents though put up quite a fight against the planned elevated road. Doubt it will ever happen.
