What Samak Goes Around Comes Around

During the growing rebellion against our dear old prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra he had hosted a daily political talk show that defended Thaksin.

The show was yanked off the air after the military toppled Thaksin in September 2006.

Now Samak Sundaravej is back on the air. Not as an overly gruff lambaster, but rather toned down by the weight and dignity of the office of prime minister.

Prime Minister Samak, more gently mannered, has got his own weekly Sunday talk’n'chat show now.

Using state-run television and radio for an hour of off-the-cuff commentary to the public.

Who would have imagined that back in September 2006.

Seems impossible to tell what the future in this country will bring.
