    Hmmm.

    Well, setting aside the human interest side to this for a moment, and recognizing the social injustice that exists in Thailand which fuels exactly what this silly tart is complaining about, there is a very simple equation.

    Thai women sleep with foreigners for peanuts either:

    1. because it is a financial necessity or an acquired lifestyle born of financial necessity.

    Or

    2. because it isn’t.

    And (sometimes) elderly Westerners with a penchant for children come here, either

    1. because they can satisfy their needs in Buddhist-morality and culturally-precious Thailand, where the Thai poo yai (often the police) profit from it,

    Or

    2. because they can’t.

    It really is as simple as that. I think this hi-so Thai tart is taking a really deeply inserted rectal view. She should wake up and stop asking “why” but “when will we do something to change it?” and “who will start doing it?”

    If not now, then when? And if not me then who?

    At that point, all the whingeing and crocodile tears can give way to actually doing something about it. But I doubt it will be in my lifetime – Thailand is a basket case culture and it isn’t likely to change.

    I’m guessing she’s not a red shirt wearing Thaksin supporter. I am very concerned to hear that there are ugly women in Japan and China though … I mean that is what’s most important.

    Maybe if she spent a few months in Isaan trying to get an education and working to survive she would realize that not only are these Thai people her countrymen but they deserve an equal education which could give them the leg up in life to have a decent job.

    Stop whining stupid girl, and get yourself a brain. The difference between Thais and other Asians is that not only their education system is brainwashing them into brainless zombies, but they take pride in being superficial idiots and reject any opportunity to learn.

    Even much poorer countries like Vietnam invest heavily in the education of the young generation to develop themselves.

    Second, prostitution and submission of women is part of the Thai culture, they didn’t need foreigners for that. Every small town in Thailand has numerous brothels, and there are no farangs there, it’s only for Thais.

    Hey, I say “you go girl.” How would the other commentators like it if they voiced an opinion, such as “I’m sick of my country being known for soccer hooligans” or “I hate it when people hear about my country and think we are all snobs.” Then what if they got comments – “stop complaining unless you first solve your country’s poverty, education, etc.” Anyway she’s in school and will most likely return to Thailand and help in some way, at least by being a productive member of society – and a creative one at that. C’mon guys people are allowed to have opinions. Her opinion is justified.

    I’m so annoyed that I was told I was going to hear about japan and China and Thailand and what I ended up hearing was a rant about Westerners coming to Thailand for sex. With 14 million tourists per year I’m pretty sure not all of them are sex tourists and honestly the bulk of Thailand’s tourists don’t come from the West. Funny that there was no mention of the Japanese, Chinese and Thais looking to have sex with Thai girls … I think that would have been more on topic, but perhaps not so disgusting ja?

    Oh, just want you to know also … Jeerawan (Mint – cute name) is pretty darn cute anyway even if a bit naive. So, there is at least one “cute” thing for Thailand. :>)

    Good point BD, the constant whining about the damage done to Thailand’s reputation by the consequences of Thailand’s own treatment of its own people and its visitors alike by the Thai exploitation gene is just sickening.

    If she really gave a damn she would get the hell down to one of the few charity schools in Bangkok that give free English lessons to Thai working girls.

    But of course she doesn’t, she just whines.

    She is so right, I don’t understand why some Thai girls just go way overboard when they are with you. They start doing things in bed that I would rather not explain here. I tell them that I did not ask for that or I tell them that “you don’t have to do that if you don’t want to,” but they do it anyway.

    My friend thinks some of these girls do that because that is what happens in internet porn. Allot of Thai girls are soooo quiet and shy too, it doesn’t fit them to act this way. I can’t figure it out.

    I like Thai girls. As for them being financial opportunists, if you stay within your league then you will be fine. The more young Thai girls that rip off stupid old men the better, all the power to them.

    I’m curious as to where one finds “the factory district in BKK”. I’ve lived in the Big Mango for nearly a decade but have never heard anyone refer to such a place. Sounds like very nice people live/work there, though!

    I am 25, I first came to Thailand when I was 22. I have had 5 trips since then, two of them a month long. I don’t know what that part of BKK was called, I just toured around and seen many factories and seen many Thai people that must not have seen many white folk before. LOL.

    I actually don’t think Westerners see Thailand in this way, in fact they feel that Thailand has some of the most “na rak” girls around. Maybe the Westerners you have met in thailand have come across this way because of they have probably only dealt with prostitutes. Also perhaps Chinese and Japanese people are more likely to travel abroad to other countries than Thai women both because of the sheer number of them and the greater level of affluence especially in Japan, so Westerners are more likely to have opinions about them.
