I agree with some that’s been said here, women are the same everywhere you go. Just a pre-caution, be careful here in Thailand, you never know who you will run into … be it man or woman, farang or locals … you just never know what they are up to.

Maybe you’re just hanging out with the wrong type of people but I don’t actually see any animosity from farang women. I left Thailand a year ago (I lived there for six years) and I had both farang friends and Thai friends, who were both male and female. As a farang woman, I never had any issues getting along with Thai women and while there are some cultural differences I feel we are more alike than we are different. I feel the only time this animosity comes up is amongst people who either haven’t spent much time in Thailand or people who are ignorant and rely on stereotypes to form their beliefs about people. As for the commenter who was rambling about how women’s libbers wouldn’t like his generalizations about Thai vs. farang women and their differences, I am a western feminist and I really didn’t feel there were such huge differences in dating styles as you seem to claim. Some women like to pursue and some women like to be pursued and as long as you don’t demonize those who have a different attitude toward it than you do its really not an issue.

I have been to Thailand four times (Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket). I fall into Alex’s 15%. I can get girls in the U.S., with little effort. That being said, I like Thailand and the Philippines, because eight out of ten girls are small. I workout at a trendy U.S. gym in a large city and I have been taking notes. On a typical night, there will be about 200 people in the gym – 170 guys and 30 females. Of the 30 females, only about 5 are thin/small/sleek/skinny/etc. U.S. women are getting bigger and bigger. If you go to a mall in the U.S., only about two out of ten females look fit. In Thailand and the Philippines, eight out of ten girls are small, with nice figures. Also, they have gorgeous brown/bronze skin. I spent a month in Pattaya on one trip and quite frankly, the Thai girls came up to me. Alex is right. For 1,000 Baht, you can have a good time with an exotic looking creature. Anybody who has been to Pattaya or Phuket knows what I mean. And, I fully understand that, it’s business for them. But hell, in the U.S., it would be $75 for dinner and a movie. $75 covers two or three nights of action in Thailand. I only go to Thailand for fun. I do know a couple of local girls that are not bar girls and they are cool.
